South African media personality Ntsiki Mazwai recently took to social media to speak about the recent findings by the Public Protector, who accused the South African Police Service (SAPS) of mishandling a case involving two popular DJs.
TshisaLive reported that the Public Protector found out that the SAPS allegedly failed to do a proper investigation of a sexual assault complaint lodged in 2021. This came after the directors of Women-Inspired Solutions for Empowerment (Wise) approached the office on behalf of the alleged sexual assault victim in November 2021.
Mazwai, who has been trending this week, said she had gone through a lot in response to the X post.
"Do you know what I have been through?" she wrote.

Why Ntsiki has been trending?
Mazwai responded to a recent interview by a DJ, who spoke about their legal battle. She made a video statement telling her side of the story. In the four-minute-long video, she denied allegations that she called anyone a rapist. Mazwai said the only thing she did was retweet the original tweets, adding that she was not the original author of them.
"I won't be long; I will keep it short and sweet. I never falsely accused anyone of rape," she said. "All the lawsuits filed have been under my name, Ntsiki Mazwai, and were tweets that I was not the original author of. You can verify this information," she added.
The poet said she had been ordered by the court not to mention the case or speak about any individuals, stating that she had respected that order for many years.
"I was not the original author of any of the tweets that I have been sued for. The allegations do not come directly from me. Once I get my businesses off the ground, I will be able to pay the full amount,” she said.
In another post, Mazwai told Mzansi to wake up, reiterating that she is innocent, “Where is the digital footprint of me calling him a rapist? Where is the tweet? Would it not have trended? Wake up, South Africa, and see this for what it is!” she exclaimed.
