Talk about a comeback! Sol Phenduka was nominated for the prestigious Telkom Radio Awards, representing the very radio station that previously fired him.
Months after Kaya 959 kicked him to the curb, the Podcast and Chill co-host was vindicated with a nomination in the Best Traffic Presenter category for Siz the World, making it one of Kaya's nine nominations at the awards.
Reacting to the announcement on Monday, 17 November 2025, Sol celebrated the nomination without commenting on the situation's irony.
"Look who's nominated for best traffic presenter at the radio awards."
The show, which he co-hosted with Mpho Maboi and Mfundo Mabalane, with Sizwe Dhlomo as the main presenter, quickly became a fan-favourite due to Sol's informative and humorous take on current affairs.

He was suspended in August over his ongoing multi-million-rand defamation case with Minnie Dlamini, involving his Podcast and Chill co-host, MacGyver "MacG" Mukwevho.
The lawsuit stems from Mac's statements about Dlamini's past relationships and marriage, and comments about her hygiene after her breakup with Dr Brian Monaisa.
Less than a month later, Sol's contract with Kaya was terminated, igniting outrage among listeners and fans of the presenter.
While he has yet to announce his return to radio, fans now wonder whether the nomination would force his Kaya bosses to reconsider and reinstate him.
