Kini Shandu is reportedly making a major comeback and heading back to television screens, and this time it is on a different channel entirely. The former Daily Thetha presenter has allegedly landed a hosting role on Moja Love for a brand-new current affairs programme called Lentswe La Hao.
According to a report by MDNTV published on 6 August 2026, Shandu has already started filming the show on a once-a-week schedule, an arrangement that allows him to balance his other commitments in KwaZulu-Natal, where he runs his own public relations company.
The show is built around current affairs, with a particular focus on the Local Government Elections set for 4 November. A source close to the production told MDNTV that Shandu is enthusiastic about the platform it gives him to connect with ordinary South Africans on political matters.
"What he appreciates most about this deal is that it gives him a platform to engage with citizens on current affairs. The political dynamics of the country are quite fascinating at the moment. Everyone has an opinion, and there is no better place to foster these debates than on television."

The insider added that the opportunity has been a long time coming.
"It is long overdue. Kini has been waiting a long time for this opportunity to return to TV and do what he does best, which is presenting."
Neither Shandu nor Moja Love had publicly confirmed the appointment at the time of the report.

Kini Shandu's rise and turbulent years
Shandu first caught the public's attention at Durban's Gagasi FM before making his television debut in 2017 as co-host of the popular SABC 1 weekday reality talk show Daily Thetha.
His departure from Gagasi FM was not without drama, as the station reportedly accused him of repeatedly failing to show up for work after he accepted the Daily Thetha offer, leading to a legal battle between the two parties.
In more recent years, Shandu attracted controversy for social media posts in which he labelled single mothers a disgrace to their families and suggested they should not expect to be married. The remarks sparked widespread outrage and led to him being demoted from his position at the Sebenza Women's Awards.
Broadcaster Clarisa Mfeka also publicly accused him of workplace bullying during his Gagasi FM days.
Shandu has remained active in media through the KZN Tonight Podcast. Lentswe La Hao would mark his most significant television return since Daily Thetha.
