Legendary DJ, producer and music entrepreneur Oskido is set to make history at the 32nd South African Music Awards. The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) confirmed that he will walk away with not one but two of the SAMAs' most prestigious honours at the upcoming ceremony.

RiSA revealed that Oskido will receive a pair of the South African Music Awards' highest accolades at SAMA32, which is sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation. The announcement has shone a spotlight on the veteran musician's extraordinary contribution to South African music over the decades.

SAMA spokesperson Unati Gwija spoke to the significance of the Lifetime Achievement Award, making clear that it carries a weight far beyond simply recognising how long someone has been in the industry.

"The Lifetime Achievement Award is more than a recognition of longevity; it is a celebration of those whose artistry has shaped the soundtrack of our nation," Gwija said in part.

Oskido's SAMAs run

This will not be Oskido's first time being recognised by the SAMAs. The accolade adds to a career that has already been acknowledged by the industry on previous occasions, cementing his status as one of the most influential figures in the South African music landscape.
