Controversial podcaster Nota Baloyi has hit back at claims that his new girlfriend looks like his ex-wife, Zimbabwean singer Berita. The debate erupted after Nota shared a video of himself and his partner, Thandolwethu, enjoying the Scorpion Kings Live concert on 19 September 2026, with the two singing along in the audience.
It did not take long for social media to weigh in. Troll account ChrisExcel102 led the comparisons, writing that Nota had simply found a younger version of Berita, adding a bonus
"My Goat got a younger and fresher version on Berita. Bonus, she's a South African. Proper upgrade."
Nota was quick to shut down the narrative, insisting he does not have a type. He argued that Thandolwethu resembles actress Buhle Samuels far more than his former wife, and called on the public to show him more respect.

"Her name is Thandolwethu, and if she looks like anyone, it's Buhle Samuels. Please put some respect on my name!"
Nota and Berita divorced in 2024 following a very public and turbulent split. Berita cited sudden rage and anger as part of the reason she walked away, adding that she felt unsafe and unhappy at home. She also noted that Nota's online activity had damaged her career and brand, and that she ultimately chose her peace.

Rather than putting the comparisons to rest, one detail made the whole conversation spiral further. Fans quickly noticed that Thandolwethu is also the title of one of Berita's most beloved songs, taken from her debut album, Conquering Spirit. For many, that discovery only deepened the comparisons Nota was trying to shake off.
