A visibly shaken Prophet Walter Magaya struggled to hold it together in front of his congregation at PHD Ministries in Harare on Wednesday evening, 30 September 2026, as he relayed unconfirmed reports of a helicopter crash involving businessman Wicknell Chivayo. The footage, filmed outdoors at the Arena of Liberty in Waterfalls, captured a sombre and emotionally charged moment that has since spread rapidly across social media.

Standing at the stone-walled patio stage of the church, located at No. 1 Sherwood Crescent in Waterfalls, Harare, Magaya spoke into a microphone under string lights and palm trees as he delivered the news to a gathered crowd. He was candid about the uncertainty surrounding the reports, repeatedly insisting he wanted to be wrong.
