Afrobeats DJ and YouTuber Big Nandz has publicly called out celebrity fashion designer Siphosihle Masango after he allegedly took her money, failed to deliver her outfit, and then went silent when she needed him most. The entire saga played out on social media, where the DJ, real name Nande Ramncwana, shared WhatsApp conversation screenshots that left her followers fuming.
According to Big Nandz, she commissioned a custom lingerie set from Masango on 31 July for a brand photoshoot, and was invoiced R5,000. Everything seemed fine at first, but as her shoot date approached, the mood shifted entirely.
A photoshoot that cost more than just money
The stakes were high. Big Nandz had booked a hair and makeup artist, a full production team including videographers and photographers, and secured a slot at the Leonardo Hotel for the glamorous shoot. When the day arrived, her outfit was nowhere to be found. She messaged and tried calling Masango multiple times, with no luck.

On 19 September, he eventually surfaced, explaining that he had been unwell.
"The dr gave me antibiotics; been sleeping for the most part of the past 2 days. I'm at home in PTA," he wrote to her.
He apologised and promised a same-evening delivery at no extra cost. That delivery never came. The next day, when Big Nandz tried again, his response was simply: "In church."
She broke down over the whole ordeal. Despite having attended fittings and being told her outfit was "70% done," she said she felt "so defeated" and couldn't understand how things had unravelled so badly.

Other clients come forward
Once Big Nandz went public, the floodgates opened. Gogo Skotheni, who was styled by Masango in 2025, revealed she had faced the same treatment around Durban July weekend, saying: "Lol, I paid him for Durban July with my partner this year; he never delivered and ignored our calls."
Cyan Boujee was equally blunt in her assessment of the designer, saying: "He is mean and stupid. I hope no one ever books him."
Rather than diffusing the situation, Masango's responses to Big Nandz's supporters made things worse. He questioned their right to weigh in, fat-shamed one follower by calling them "big back," told others to instruct Big Nandz to collect the outfit herself, and threatened to block anyone who challenged him.
Several other former clients added their voices to the growing chorus of complaints. Big Nandz has since announced she is preparing a full tell-all on her YouTube channel, suggesting there is still plenty more to this story.
