According to a Twitter (X) post by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela on 18 August 2025, Kusho Bani is one of the only two South African hip hop songs in the list of 30, a spot ahead of Yanga Chief's What If? (Mngani) at 27 and 28, respectively.

Upon its release on 7 February, the song was met with widespread criticism on social media, as online users nitpicked at Mufasa's cultural impact, many of whom labelled him a "has-been." Nevertheless, it's clear that the numbers truly speak for themselves.

Kusho Bani is one of Mufasa's most-played songs on Spotify, with just over 5.7 million streams. It also became a viral sensation with stars like Serena Williams joining its dance challenge.

The list is dominated by Amapiano songs, with DJ Maphorisa and his many nicknames leading the pack with the most entries on the chart.

Tyla, on the other hand, sits pretty in the top three spots with her songs Bliss, Show Me Love with WizTheMc and Bees & Honey, as well as the Push 2 Start Remix.
