There is a new charmer in town, and it is none other than the versatile Vuyo Biyela. The actor has joined the talented cast of Genesis, but he shared with Briefly News that this role is the complete opposite of any role he has tackled before.

The former Sibongile & The Dlamini's actor will portray the role of a pastor's kid who is also a church leader. This is something that's not too different from his private life.

Biyela, who burst onto the scene with his role as Mlilo on the 1Magic series The River, spoke exclusively to Briefly News about this new role. He highlighted how Liziwe, his new character, differs from the other roles he has tackled before.

"Stepping into this new character feels amazing, because it was a different role/character from the ones I played previously," he shared.

Vuyo Biyela said he has always wanted to play a role that would challenge him, and he believes that playing Lizwi will fulfil his dream.

"I always prayed for a role that would somewhat challenge me. I mean, from Mlilo, who was hardcore or had a gangster side, to Kwenzo, who was soft and a 'yes man', to a pastor's kid. What a stretch. But I always challenge myself to play different characters," he continued.

"What was exciting and fun for me, tapping into this one, is that it’s not too far from reach. I grew up in church, so playing this character feels like tapping into the young Vuyo who grew up going and singing in church."

Fans got to experience more of Vuyo Biyela's talents, as he is also a musician. Reacting to a post from the star on Instagram, people shared their excitement to hear those vocals on the show, as Genesis is a Gospel record label company.
