The South African woman living abroad has left social media buzzing after sharing her astonishment at an unusual loaf of bread she encountered in Finland.

In the video, which has since gone viral, the woman, who goes by the TikTok handle @samantha_mampofu, explained that the bread was the very first thing she decided to try upon arriving in the European country.

Holding up the loaf for her followers, she demonstrated how it behaved in a way she had never seen before.

She began by pressing the bread flat between her palms. Then, with a look of surprise on her face, @samantha_mampofu opened her hands to reveal the loaf slowly unfolding and returning to its original shape. While taking to her TikTok handle @samantha_mampofu, she simply said:

"I am in disbelief!!”

The short clip that was released on TikTok on 8 September 2025 quickly caught the attention of South Africans online, many of whom admitted they had never seen bread that could fold and unfold in such a manner. Some joked that they would buy it purely for the entertainment factor, while others marvelled at the innovation.

For the social media user @samantha_mampofu, the moment highlighted one of the many small cultural shocks of adjusting to life in another country.
