Young learners at Delville Park Primary in George received reflective safety jackets on 5 August 2026, giving them greater visibility on their daily walk to school.

The George Herald shared the news on Facebook, reporting that Grade 3 and 4 pupils were the recipients of the donation. The jackets are designed to make the children more visible to motorists, particularly during early mornings and late afternoons when light conditions can be poor.

The reflective jackets were donated to learners through a partnership between the Women’s Agriculture Association (VLV) Blanco branch, the George Traffic Department and Delville Park Primary. Photos shared alongside the post showed smiling learners in their bright new gear, with the George mountains visible in the background as community members and school officials helped hand out the jackets.
