DStv subscribers are preparing for further changes to their channel catalogue after an official announcement about an upcoming network removal. Parent company MultiChoice confirmed that an international broadcasting feed will cease airing on the platform starting 11 November 2026, putting an end to its 13-year availability on South African screens.
DStv streamlines channel lineup in ongoing package review
According to a broadcast report by MyBroadband, MultiChoice representative Sthembiso Semenya explained that the scheduled drop forms part of DStv's routine strategy to evaluate and refresh its programming options. The network emphasised that young viewers would maintain access to dedicated children's content through existing alternative networks.
Structural shifts across packages
In addition to channel removals, the broadcaster recently completed a major overhaul of its subscription offerings. According to official updates released on the MultiChoice-DStv website, the pay-TV platform migrated subscribers to newly restructured tier packages like DStv Select, DStv Starter, and a dedicated Movies & Series plan to simplify options and concentrate content into fewer, stronger channel offerings.

The upcoming removal is part of a broader network strategy being implemented across the satellite platform throughout 2026. Earlier in the year, MultiChoice phased out several entertainment feeds, movie options, and regional channels as part of an effort to optimise content offerings and consolidate similar viewing options across fewer channels.
