However, her joy was short-lived as her husband, Serif Nokic, decided to leave her on the day their daughter, Alina, was born.

The 68-year-old walked out on his family after complaining that the baby's crying was too much to handle at his age.

According to the Daily Mail, Atifa's pregnancy had been considered high-risk and she had to spend three months in hospital leading up to the birth.

Serif says fatherhood will destroy his health

Serif defended his decision, claiming that living with a baby at his age would be detrimental to his health.

He expressed himself:

"I am a sick man, I am 68, I am a diabetic, and I have a weak heart. It is difficult not to sleep all night and hear a baby's cry."

The couple, believed to have used an anonymous seed donor for the pregnancy, had initially disagreed about having a child, but Serif eventually agreed.

However, upon hearing Alina crying for the first time, he decided he did not want to be a part of the new family and even refused to have Alina registered as his daughter.

Atifa to raise a daughter alone

She was devastated by Serif's decision but remained optimistic that despite her health problems, among them high blood pressure, she is determined to raise Alina on her own.

Atifa, who worked in a textile factory before retirement and has little money, is determined to raise Alina alone.

"Whatever happens, whether Serif stays or leaves, I will fight to raise Alina the best way I can and put her on the right path. I will live only for her," she expressed.

As her 60th birthday approached, Atifa had nearly given up hope of having a child, but fertility treatment finally made her dream come true.

Despite the challenges ahead, she remains optimistic, saying:

"I knew it would be a big risk at my age, but my only wish was to have a child, and it happened to me. I was not afraid of my life at all, God gave me courage. I have never felt better."
