A woman has celebrated after her baby daddy bought her a beautiful house and renovated it so she can live comfortably with their eight-year-old girl.
Sheila receives house from baby daddy
Sheila, an upcoming gospel artist, narrated that when she first got pregnant by her baby daddy, whom she met in Diani, he was cold towards her and absconded from his fatherly duties.
Sheila narrated that she was forced to raise the baby alone after he blocked her, and it was not until last year that he contacted her again and asked for forgiveness.
"My baby daddy blocked me after I told him that I was pregnant and I was left to raise the baby alone. Eight years later, he contacted me again. He was remorseful and he wanted to make up for all the lost times," she narrated.
Sheila's baby daddy apologised for disappearing and asked what he could do to make her life and that of their beautiful daughter even easier.
"I told him it would be great if we had a place we could call our own home, and he did not object. He told me to start house hunting, as he was ready to buy us a house," she said.
The mother of one got a lovely bungalow going for R441k, and her baby daddy bought it for her.
"We also wanted to renovate the house and make it modern. This cost us an extra R139,541 because we revamped the roof and other parts of the house. The whole process from buying to renovating only took two months," she said.
In addition to ensuring that Sheila and her daughter got a decent home, they bought her a car and took their child to a better school.
Sheila's experience as a single mum
"It was indeed a miracle because for eight years, he did not want anything to do with me and the child, but he was remorseful, and he now wants to be part of our lives," she said.
"I faced depression when he abandoned us eight years ago because he doubted whether the pregnancy was his. I decided to devote my life to serving God and making gospel music. This is indeed an answered prayer from one of the first songs I released," she added.
The experience of renovating a ready house also taught her that building from scratch could be much easier.
"It was costly to renovate the house because we paid over R441k to buy the land and house and make the renovations. Nonetheless, if you have no time, buying a house and revamping it to your liking could be your best option. But if you all the time, I would advise building from scratch," she advised.
