A deeply unsettling incident, in which a domestic helper allegedly caused a severe car crash, endangering children and damaging property, drew significant attention across various platforms.
The mom, TikTok user @bridgetmashile03, shared a series of images and accompanying captions, which gained massive views, likes, and comments from online users, who were shocked by the revelations.
In the post, @bridgetmashile03 began her account by showing a picture of herself cheerfully holding a bunch of flowers, next to her gleaming white Mercedes-Benz, expressing her former love for the car. She then sadly admitted that it now, the sight of it brought a lump to her throat, as her children had nearly lost their lives inside it.
She included another image showing a neighbour's house wall that had been completely knocked down by a severely damaged Mercedes, with onlookers observing the scene. The mother explained that while she and her husband were attending her grandfather's funeral in KwaZulu-Natal, they received a shocking call: one of their cars had crashed into their neighbour's yard, narrowly avoiding their swimming pool.

A day of unforeseen chaos
Another photograph displayed the car with its front and side completely wrecked. The mother detailed that her helper, who reportedly had no prior driving experience, had taken three of her children, aged eight, three, and two years with. She had also locked another child, who was sleeping, inside the house before attempting her very first driving lesson. One of the children suffered an injury and had to be rushed to hospital, receiving stitches from injuries caused by the deploying airbags.
All of this occurred without the couple's knowledge or permission. The mother shared that every time she saw the damaged car, it triggered trauma and painful memories that she believed would haunt her forever. She also recounted that the drive back from KwaZulu-Natal to Gauteng felt incredibly long, her mind racing with anxiety after receiving the distressing news.

The unsettling video gained massive views, likes, and comments from many social media users who were shocked. Many were keen to know whether the helper had been dismissed, with some saying they would have reacted physically given the danger posed to their children.
Some came forward to share their similar, unfortunate experiences with domestic helpers, recounting incidents that left them stunned. Others, learning from the incident, said they would take extra precautions to prevent tempting their domestic workers into similar unauthorised actions.
