A video exposing former South African businessman Errol Musk’s controversial comments about race and apartheid ignited a furious debate across social media.

The clip, shared on TikTok by @that1useem2hate1who, highlighted the contrast in views on South African history, garnering thousands of comments from social media users who felt Errol’s views reflected some of his generation’s stance on apartheid.

The American content creator started his video by expressing his frustration before playing a segment of the interview. During the CNN interview, Errol Musk, the father of Elon Musk, claimed that South Africa's small white population projected a European culture. When the journalist interjected, pointing out that this small population had historically oppressed millions of black people for decades under apartheid, Errol quickly denied the claims.

He argued that the white population could not have oppressed black people because they allegedly “gave them work and fed them.” He asserted that the black population grew from a “tiny group into a massive group,” implying that the white minority was responsible for this growth. When the journalist pressed him on the reality of apartheid, Errol doubled down, simply stating that “they never saw apartheid.”

The content creator, TikTok user @that1useem2hate1who returned, visibly angered, and drew a parallel between Errol's views and his son Elon Musk’s attitude, stating that an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” He called it appalling that Errol was so confident in his historical denial on a global platform like CNN. He concluded with a political comparison, asking why people think Elon and Donald Trump were so amicable, suggesting that “birds of a feather flock together.”
