A hard-working mom from Gauteng is wowing online peeps, with the perseverant woman working her way up from being a secretary to a PhD graduate at the University of South Africa (Unisa).

Mpho-Entle Modise-Naicker is also a lecturer at the academic institution’s college of education.

The lovely lady holds a doctoral degree in education, with her amazing story of grit and resilience shared by Unisa online.

According to the university, Mpho-Entle started her journey at the institution in 2001. She worked at the department of institutional advancement’s web section, later joining the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute as a communication and marketing officer.

The loving momma then left Unisa, returning sometime later as a secretary and personal assistant to two professors in the department of curriculum and instructional studies.

In 2016, the go-getter obtained her master’s degree in education at the university and became a lecturer, with Mpho-Entle bagging her PhD in Education in 2022.

Talking to Unisa, the smart lady thanked her mentors for their stellar motivation, noting that all things are possible with God:

"There is always help in the dry valleys or up the mountains. God is always nearby, sending an angel or two when the need arises.
“I had help from my family, Prof Pinkie Mabunda, Prof Geesje van den Berg, and a whole list of other special people in my acknowledgements in my thesis. So, I can say never be shy to ask for help and never be afraid to start from scratch.”
