DURBAN - Zwakele Mncwango resigned as a Democratic Alliance (DA) member three days after refuting claims that he was leaving the party when he resigned as the party's chip whip.
According to Sowetan Live, The former DA leader accused Hellen Zille, the federal chairperson was trying to silence him about the toxic culture in the party that pushed him to the breaking point of resigning.
The DA believe that Mncwango has been planning on joining ActionSA for the last month and called on him to tell the public the truth about his true intentions.
They said that while he was plotting, the DA flew him to Uganda and Norway in the last month at a cost of R150 000, and if the party was so toxic, then he should not have accepted those perks, reported News 24.

Mncwango hit back at the DA for publicising his resignation letter and said that the DA is hungry for attention. He said:
"I'm not in the caucus group anymore and wondering what was the intention to share my resignation letter within DA groups and even make it public through the media. I wasn't even going to share it publicly or make any statement. Seems like the DA enjoys the content."
Action SA leader Herman Mashaba has welcomed the possibility of Mncwango becoming a member of ActionSA and having a role in shaping the party in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Mashaba said:
"Actionairs, a great opportunity has just been presented to us. I commit, with immediate effect, to engage Mr Zwakele Mncwango, to join ActionSA and play some role in KZN. I have engaged him in the past.Let's go for it. We have nothing to lose.
