EKURHULENI — ActionSA's Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate Xolani Khumalo has shared footage of himself conducting a drug bust in the area as part of his Moja Love investigative show, Sizokthola, using the clip to rally voter support ahead of the 4 November local government elections.
The video, posted on Khumalo's X account, shows Khumalo and his team confronting a suspect at a residential property in what appears to be a township setting. The suspect was questioned after a woman was overheard warning him to conceal items because police were nearby.
Suspect caught hiding drugs in apartment wall
When Khumalo questioned the man about what he was hiding, the suspect repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. However, after sustained pressure from Khumalo, the man retrieved a hidden stash of drugs from a hole concealed inside the wall of his small apartment. Khumalo then challenged the suspect on why he had lied, and the man offered an apology.

The footage drew significant attention online after Khumalo shared it publicly. Alongside the clip, Khumalo wrote:
"While others promise to fight crime and drugs, I am already doing it! Ekurhuleni needs a fighter who has already proven he will show up. I have shown up for South Africa. Now I am ready to show up for Ekurhuleni as your mayor!"
