Western Cape Police Arrest 2 Suspects in Connection With Khayelitsha Child’s Murder

CAPE TOWN, WESTERN CAPE — The South African police service arrested two suspects on 23 July 2025 in connection with the murder of a little girl in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.

According to eNCA, a sniffer dog was taken to her last known location, believed to be herhome. When they arrived, the sniffer dog reacted to blood found on the floor and the mop. A man and a woman were arrested. The suspects are expected to appear before the Khayelitsha Magistrates' Court on 25 July 2025.

Children killed in 2025

A child was shot and killed during a robbery in Meadowdale, Bedfordview, in Gauteng on 4 January 2025. The little boy was at a McDonald's when a group of robbers robbed the outlet. They robbed the passengers of the car and shot once in the car before fleeing. The bullet struck the little boy, and a murder case was opened.

The family of a Free State teenager wants justice after he was killed allegedly by the owners of a botched initiation school. The young man, Andile Zungulwa, escaped from his Botshabelo home on 27 May. He was, however, found beaten to death on 8 July. Five people were arrested and charged with his murder.

A six-year-old boy was killed in Seshego in Polokwane, Limpopo, when he was struck by a stray bullet while playing in the neighbour's yard on 18 July 2025. His mother saw him collapse, and he and a neighbour rushed him to the hospital. He died as the hospital was preparing to transport him to a facility in Polokwane for treatment.

Jayben-Lee Meek's mother was arrested for his death

In a similar article, Briefly News reported that Tiffany Meek, the mother of Jayden-Lee Meek, was arrested for his murder. She was charged with murder, crimen inuria, obstructing justice, and defrauding the ends of justice.

Tiffany reported that her son went missing on 10 May 2025, and his body was found the next day. However, the police started investigating his case as a murder, and Tiffany became the prime suspect.
