FREE STATE — The South African Police Service in the Free State has confirmed that a missing police constable has been found safe and unharmed, three days after her disappearance was reported.
The SAPS announced the update on 10 September 2026 via its official X account, confirming that Constable Mpho Sehloho, 23, attached to Parkroad Detectives, had been located following a public appeal for information.
Constable Sehloho was last seen on Monday, 7 September 2026, after leaving her residence in Rocklands, Mangaung. Her disappearance prompted a missing-person appeal that was widely circulated by members of the public and media outlets.

Free State SAPS grateful for assistance
The Free State SAPS expressed gratitude to the community, media, and police members who assisted in the search.
"The Free State SAPS would like to express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to all members of the community and the media who assisted in circulating the missing-person appeal and provided information to the police," the official statement read.
Despite widespread relief at her safe return, the SAPS declined to share further details about where Constable Sehloho was found or the circumstances of her disappearance, stating that her privacy and that of her family would be respected as they attend to the matter.
