Born in Ireland, McGregor is also a successful businessman outside of the arena and now targeting an entry into the game of football.

In a recent tweet, McGregor says he is open to buying shares at either the Red Devils or Scottish giants Celtic. McGregor wrote on Twitter:

“A conversation came up regarding Celtic first to be honest. To acquire shares from Dermot Desmond. I am certainly interested in acquiring a sports team at some stage! Both Celtic and Man United are teams I like for sure. But I am open. I feel I could do big things for a club.”

On the other hand, media reports previously suggested that US boxer and businessman and McGregor’s former opponent, Floyd Mayweather, also expressed his wish to own a football club.

Briefly News reported that a Nigerian lady identified as Akinnawonu Ilesanmi Oluwademilade had celebrated her dad's posthumous birthday in a very special way.

In an emotional post on Twitter, the lady said she missed watching football matches with her dad at viewing centres.

Oluwademilade 'asked' her dad if he loved how Manchester United performed on January 4 this year, telling him that the club has been doing great lately.

The lady went ahead to say that it would have been her dad's 79th birthday. The daughter thanked her father for making her fall in love with the game.
