AFCON 2023: Victor Osimhen Declared Fit for Bafana Bafana vs Nigeria Semi-Final
- Victor Osimhen rejoined the Super Eagles for training on Tuesday, 6 February 2024 after a minor fitness scare following Nigeria's triumph in the AFCON quarter-final
- Osimhen had been stretchered off for precautionary reasons in injury time of Nigeria's 1-0 victory over Angola, and reports in recent days disclosed that he had also been struggling with an abdominal problem
- Although the 25-year-old did not initially travel with the Super Eagles team to their training base in Bouake, Ivory Coast, Osimhen has joined the rest of the squad
Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 star Victor Osimhen has been declared fit to face Bafana Bafana for their semifinal clash.
Osimhen, the Super Eagles of Nigeria's most prominent name in attack, had been doubtful for the AFCON 2023 semifinal match.
But after a fresh update via the official X handle of the Nigerian squad on Tuesday evening, 6 February, the Napoli striker joined the Bouaké team and trained with the squad.
The tweet reads:

"Super Eagles camp update - Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday. He has joined the team in Bouaké and has trained with the squad today."
Similarly, the chairman of Sporting Lagos FC, Godwin Enakhena, shared a 28-second video of Osimhen training in Bouaké.

Man predicts Nigeria vs South Africa in TikTok video
In a similar article, Briefly News reported that a man made predictions about what he thought the scoreline would be between Bafana Bafana and Nigeria.
The gent posted a TikTok video sharing his predictions of how each semifinal clash would turn out. Netizens were disturbed by his predictions and many did not like the scorelines he came up with.
@callum_wm said the match between Nigeria and South Africa on Wednesday, 7 February 2024 would end in a one-nil scoreline in favour of the Super Eagles. He added that Fulham midfielder Alexander Chuka Iwobi would be the only scorer in the match.
