The AFCON 2023 crucial fixture was confirmed after Côte d'Ivoire defeated DR Congo in the second semifinal match on Wednesday night, February 7.
While Nigeria dispatched South Africa through penalties, hosts Ivory Coast beat Congo one nil.

It will be the eighth final appearance by Nigeria, champions in 1980, 1994 and 2013, and the fourth by 1992 and 2015 title winners Ivory Coast.
After the seesaw struggle for supremacy in Bouake, the Ivory Coast continued a remarkable comeback in the tournament by defeating DR Congo.
Borussia Dortmund star Sebastien Haller was the 65th-minute match-winner as his boot connected with a cross, and the ball struck the ground, then rose over goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi and into the net.

Nwabali, one of AFCON 2023's stars, was solid throughout the 120 minutes of action at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, Ivory Coast.
