Kaizer Chiefs have been advised to sign a new goalkeeper before this summer transfer window closes. The Glamour Boys have been active in the transfer market this summer but are yet to sign a new shot-stopper.

Nasreddine Nabi's side ended last season with Brandon Petersen in goal and would likely continue to man the post for Amakhosi if they fail to sign a new goalkeeper.

Petersen, who is looking forward to playing alongside the new signings at Kaizer Chiefs, was also in goal when they defeated Orlando Pirates in the final of the Nedbank Cup.

After fans and pundits on social media expressed concerns about the Chiefs' goalkeeping issue, Briefly News outlines three goalkeepers the Soweto giants should consider signing this summer.

3 Goalkeepers Kaizer Chiefs should sign this summer

1. Stanley Nwabali

Nwabali is rated as one of the best goalkeepers in Africa since he turned out for the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which was hosted and won by Ivory Coast.

The Nigerian international has since continued to impress with his club Chippa United in the Premier Soccer League.

Nwabali has also proven himself as one of the standout goalkeepers in the Betway Premiership, and would be a great addition to Nasreddine Nabi's squad if he's considered.

The former Enyimba goalkeeper has once been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but the Soweto giants are yet to submit an official bid to Chippa United, and the shot-stopper may stay with his present club.

2. Darren Johnson

Johnson is also currently with AmaZulu FC after playing for Chippa United last season and was recently included in Hugo Broos' preliminary squad for Bafana Bafana's friendly match against Tanzania and Mozambique.

The 27-year-old might be the option Kaizer Chiefs need as they have been investing more in signing top players who are free agents.

3. Renaldo Leaner

Renaldo Leaner has quietly become one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier Soccer League, and his performances for Sekhukhune United have also earned him a place on the national team recently.

Sekhukhune's clash against Mamelodi Sundowns last season trended online just because of Leaner's performance in goal for Babina Noko.

Briefly News also reported that Kaizer Chiefs have been warned by their former coach against investing on players who are free agents.

Out of the six players the Soweto giants signed this summer, five of them have joined the club as free agents.

The PSL giants have been urged to create their own blueprint for transfer market.
