Mohau Nkota: Former Pirates Star Urges Bafana to Seal Dream With Victory Over Nigeria

Mohau Nkota has urged his teammates to secure a full three points against Nigeria in what promises to be a pivotal clash for both sides during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, set to take place at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.

“We just need to build on our performance against Lesotho and give everything for the three points to widen the gap at the top. If a win isn’t possible, we’ll settle for a draw and keep moving forward,” he said.

“Our victory over Lesotho was crucial and has brought us closer to achieving our dream of qualifying for the World Cup.”

“Whenever I’m called up, I see it as my duty to step onto the field and do my part to help the team.”

Another goal scorer against Lesotho was Oswin Appollis, who joined Pirates in July mainly to fill the void left by Nkota. The former Polokwane City winger is bracing for a challenging encounter with the determined Super Eagles.

“The match against Nigeria will be tough but exciting. They boast a squad full of talented players, and we are prepared to face the challenge,” he said.

Briefly News also reported that a Nigerian sports journalist has named the favourite to win the Bafana Bafana vs Super Eagles clash in their upcoming World Cup qualifier.

The match is expected to be a close encounter, but one of the teams has been predicted to be the favourite to win the tie.
