Bafana Bafana qualified for the global football competition after beating Rwanda in their final qualifier weeks ago. They achieved this despite being docked three points for fielding an ineligible player in one of their matches.

There has been ongoing discussion about who will succeed Broos when the Belgian decides to leave. Several coaches have been tipped to replace him, but he will lead the team to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup before any decision is made.

SAFA urge not to interfere with technical team

He praised the team’s recent performances and reflected on how SAFA’s past decision to fire him and Carlos Queiroz opened major opportunities for Queiroz abroad.

De Sa commended the current technical team, noting their impressive work since the Africa Cup of Nations. He urged SAFA not to disrupt the setup or make unnecessary changes, emphasising that the World Cup, spread across three countries, will be a logistical challenge.

He stressed the importance of maintaining stability because the staff have been consistent and effective, as shown by the team’s qualification. De Sa added that he hopes there will be no interference from SAFA or external political influences, and he credited Hugo Broos and his team for lifting Bafana Bafana back into Africa’s top ten, where he believes they belong.
