Cope's councillor Mununwa Makwarela has been reinstated as the Mayor of the City of Tshwane after being disqualified for allegedly being declared insolvent.

COPE member Murunwa Makwarela was found to be ineligible to hold the City of Tshwane's mayoral position due to an insolvency declaration case back in 2016.
