Fans Excited as Michelin 24H Dubai Race Relocated to Kyalami in South Africa for January 2027

The iconic Michelin 24H Dubai endurance race is no longer heading to the UAE. Creventic, the organiser behind the 24H Series, has confirmed the event will take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand, South Africa, from 8 to 10 January 2027, rebranded as the 24H Kyalami.
The decision came after ongoing geopolitical conflict in the Middle East made logistics, transport planning, and shipping costs increasingly difficult to manage. Creventic's other scheduled Middle East Trophy fixtures at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi have also been pushed to the 2027/2028 campaign.
South Africa's first international 24-hour race
The move carries significant weight for South African motorsport. It marks the 24H Series' debut on the African continent and the country's first international 24-hour race under the championship's banner. It also brings major endurance racing back to Kyalami, which last hosted a marquee international event during the 2023 Kyalami 9 Hour.

Formula 1 journalist Vincent Bruins, who covers GT racing for AUTOSPORT.nl, broke the news on 17 September 2026, noting that the race was expected on the same dates originally reserved for Dubai. When asked about which cars would compete, Bruins confirmed the event would welcome GT3, GTX, Porsche 992, GT4, and touring car classes.
