Now, Cardi says, her tumultuous relationship with Offset has finally ended.
Cardi B speaks on split from Offset and the cheating allegations
In an Instagram Live, Cardi informed her fans that she had been single for a while, adding that she had taken her time before announcing because she did not know how to tell the world.
"I don't know if you guys have been getting clues from me from my lives or my stories when I put up certain music..." she started.
She commented on the infidelity allegations against Offset, saying she did not think it was true but elaborated that even if it was, she was not keen on finding out because she and him were no longer an item.
"When it comes to today's events and stuff, I don't know if it's true...I don't think it's true. I don't care to find out because I have been single for a minute now but I have been afraid... not afraid I just don’t know how to tell the world," she explained.
Cardi then said that the infidelity rumours had allowed her to come clean to her fans.
"Today has been like a sign...the last time I got on live I kinda wanted to tell you, but I didn't know how to tell you. So I changed my mind, but it has been like this for a minute now."
The mother of two then disclosed that she wanted to move on and start afresh in the coming year.
"I wanna start 2024 like fresh, open... I don't know I am curious for a new life for a new beginning and yeah I am excited," she said.
Cardi B and Offset unfollow each other
Cardi's announcement comes days after she and Offset reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram.
She then posted cryptic messages on the social media platform, fueling rumours that all was not well between them.
"You know when you just outgrow relationships," she wrote via one slide of the story, per the outlet.
On another slide, she added, "I'm tired of protecting people's feelings. I gotta put myself first."
