Gail Mabalane has been applauded for her acting skills on Netflix's mini-series Blood & Water.

The actress left many viewers in awe of how she portrayed the character of Thandeka Khumalo.

Thandeka is a mother who is desperate to find her 17-year-old daughter who was abducted at birth.

The series, which premiered on Wednesday, is Netflix's second African original after Queen Sono.

The stunner's portrayal of her character led many viewers to watch all six episodes of the show in just one night.

The show boasts a stellar cast, including Mzansi's favourite rapper Nasty C.

Gail's fans have taken social media to praise her for her "amazing" performance on the show.

Briefly.co.za reported that the actress, who is married to musician Kabelo Mabalane, bagged a role in a new film titled .

Directed by Travis Traute, the film set in Cape Town tells the story of an ex-firefighter who is on the run after waking up next to his murdered wife's corpse.

Gail is not new to Mzansi's acting industry. She won Mzansi hearts when she starred on The Road and also in The Wild.
