Makhadzi reportedly ended her working relationship with her longtime DJ after repeated offences of tardiness.
DJ Snani had been DJing for Makhadzi for four years, touring with her and managing to make a name for himself. He even got booked outside of his contract with Makhadzi, which ultimately led to his downfall.
Sunday World reports that Snani started missing gigs in 2024 and and failed to fully commit to his role on Makhadzi's team, where he was contracted as a full-time, salary-earning employee:
"He would call in sick for work on the last hour, and the team had to make a plan."

Ahead of her anticipated One-Woman Show scheduled for 20 and 21 December 2025, Makhadzi officially confirmed her DJ's firing, claiming that Snani did not prioritise his job and would often be unavailable for important gigs:
"Snani was sometimes unavailable or double-booked himself, knowing he is my full-time DJ."
In her statement on 13 August, the Number 1 hitmaker went on to say that firing her DJ was not easy, but it had to be done:
"It’s sad because he is like a brother to me, but I had to let him go. I take my work seriously. I respect my fans and the people who support me. And I try to show up on time, look good, and be professional. I need someone in my team who shows the same respect."

Snani reacted to his firing by promoting his services on his Facebook page on the day the news went public.

He went on to claim that the music industry only cares about artists' popularity as opposed to their talent:
"It’s no longer about your skills or creativity; they need numbers these days. Get numbers and be well-known, then you'll get booked."
He follows Makhadzi's former backup dancer Rush Mabanana, who parted ways with the singer, claiming unfair treatment. Snani’s statements raise the question of whether they were an indirect jab at Makhadzi.
