Amapiano musician and club DJ Scotts Maphuma is trending for the right reasons. The Uyaphapha Marn hitmaker stirred social media chatter after he shared a picture he took with a popular politician.

Scotts Maphuma became notorious for refusing to take pictures with his fans. His stance almost cost him his budding music career before he tried to make amends and started taking pictures and videos with his fans. While he still has issues taking photos with some of his fans from time to time, Scotts Maphuma had no problem taking pictures with this politician.

On Sunday, 17 August 2025, Scotts Maphuma shared pictures on his official Instagram account. The images showed that Maphuma attended an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) event. The post was captioned:

“Champion Ye Vethu’ ✌🏽❤️😌”

On Saturday, 16 August 2025, Scotts Maphuma joined other musicians as the EFF celebrated its decisive victory in Ward 13, Seshego.

In the pictures, Scotts Maphuma was dressed in an EFF sleeveless jacket. In one of the pictures, the musician, who was previously arrested in Mozambique after failing to perform at a booked show, was smiling from ear to ear while shaking hands with EFF leader Julius Malema.
