It has been one year since DJ Maphorisa was accused of exploiting Samthing Soweto, and social media is still talking about how the DJ reacted to the allegations.

Along with Mas Musiq, Porry was accused of swindling Samthing Soweto out of his royalties after his vocals were used for their song Amalanga Awafani without crediting or paying him.

Not only that, but the singer went on to claim that he had been involved in similar situations with Maphorisa in the past, adding fuel to the already raging exploitation allegations made against Porry.

His claims raised public outrage as social media users vowed to cancel the DJ, calling him out for being a gatekeeper and milking other artists dry. However, he did not take these allegations lying down.

Reacting to the foul comments in a now-famous rant on 3 September 2024, Porry accused Samthing Soweto of being greedy and wanting song royalties for himself despite collaborating with other artists.

This is where the famous "Hao kgonahale" was born, when Porry couldn't make sense of the singer's allegations. Maphorisa also credited himself for being instrumental in pioneering Amapiano and making superstars.
