South African singer and actress Phumeza Shoba's hard work and support for her son, Mpilo, is finally paying off.
The former Enough is Enough host is overwhelmed with emotion after her visually impaired son landed a gig in Ibiza, Spain, as the headlining act:
"Never look at your situation and think it’s over. As long as you’re still breathing, there’s always a chance things will turn around. Have faith! God lives!!!"
She had been promoting the event as well as her son's music career on her social media pages, all while receiving praise for being a supportive mother. However, it's clear that Mpilo's hard work played a major role.

According to News24, Mpilo was diagnosed with eye cancer when he was one, and underwent surgery and cancer treatment, but sadly lost his sight.
After beating cancer, he was soon bitten by the music bug and at just three years old, he started showing interest in music and musical instruments, and the rest is history.
Known as DJ Influence, the 12-year-old recently performed at the first annual Yatch Episodes on 31 August 2025 alongside other international DJs.
He is also the son of fellow musician Shoba, whom Phumeza credited for supporting their young boy behind the scenes:
"Thank you, @Shota_AfroRaw, for your support and for always being there behind the scenes. This wouldn’t have been possible if we weren’t a team behind this little guy."

Together, the couple founded the Mpilo Foundation to build a school for visually impaired children, and their undying support for their little man melted many hearts on social media.
DJ Influence has been praised by big names like the Major League DJz as well as "Uncle Nathi" DJ Black Coffee, who, despite also living with a disability, defied the odds and became South Africa's biggest DJ.
