The global fashion industry was left saddened after the news of the legendary Italian fashion designer, Giorgio Armani's death, was announced on social media.

On Thursday, 4 September 2025, Armani's company's team shared that the icon had passed away at the age of 91 while he was surrounded by his loved ones. The group issued a statement on their Instagram page to let the world and their supporters know about his death, which stunned many.

"Il Signor Armani, as he was always respectfully and admiringly called by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Indefatigable to the end, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and the many ongoing and future projects," the statement reads.

They also revealed that Armani's funeral will be held privately, but the funeral chambers will be open on Saturday and Sunday, 6 and 7 September 2025, in Milan for those who wish to pay their respects.
