Halala! Maglera Doe Boy continues to take SA hip-hop to the world. The South African wordsmith is over the moon after one of his songs was included on the soundtrack of an American horror movie.

Maglera Doe Boy’s music career has reached new heights. From being nominated for a BET Award, the musician is now one of the few South African rappers with the bragging rights to being on the soundtrack of an American film.

Maglera Doe Boy celebrates feature on American film soundtrack

On Friday, 5 September 2025, Maglera Doe Boy took to his X account and shared that his song Italy will be part of the soundtrack album for the horror thriller Him, produced by the multi-talented Jordan Peele. The song was released in 2024 as part of his album Maglera Tapes, with ONDELIVE.

In his celebratory post, Maglera disclosed that the soundtrack album will be available for streaming on Friday, 19 September 2025, when the movie makes its theatrical debut.

“My song 'Italy' is featured on the soundtrack for the new Jordan Peele movie ‘HIM’ coming out on the 19th of September.”

Apart from Maglera Doe Boy, the soundtrack album also features songs from the legendary American hip-hop group Mobb Deep, Tierra Whack and Guapdad 4000, who also appear in the Mokeypaw production.

Maglera Doe Boy accused of being unprofessional

Meanwhile, Maglera Doe Boy was accused of being unprofessional and allegedly threatening a collaborator, as reported by Briefly News.

The accusations were made by videographer Clout Cassette on Sunday, 17 August 2025, in a series of explosive posts on Instagram.

Clout Cassette announced that he would no longer be working with Maglera Doe Boy and several South African musicians. In response, Maglera Doe Boy shared a video clarifying his relationship with Clout Cassette.
