Netizens react after Zee Nxumalo shares how much she made
While the musician, who bagged a major deal with a children’s channel, didn’t share the specifics of how much she actually made, some netizens were impressed that she had recouped the R250,000 in just eight days after the music video’s release.
Some were, however, sceptical and questioned whether the 1.8 million views the music video had amassed after eight days was enough to earn her a quarter of a million Rand.
Here are some of the comments:
@MicahDaMusic gushed:
“Girl, you know business! ROI because this video is still going to generate more ahh 🔥🤌🏿”
@Ndaba_2025 teased:
“Unamanga Zee! (You’re lying, Zee) 🤭”
@TEEZEY3RA questioned:
“1 million views = R250k? How lol? I don't think it's over R50k.”
@TebohoJust said:
“Shout out to the director, they did a fantastic job👌😍”
@SyathokozaMweli shared:
“There's a song that you did recently, ‘Bhampa’. Yabona, that intro, MaZwide ❤️😍 immediately fell in love with you there. I enjoyed it. I expect it to be very high on my Apple Music replay.”
@BaandzMakeHer asked:
“How much does your label get from that?”
@KgosiMolaoM argued:
“Music isn't like influencer content. Every play generates royalties. E.g., radio pays with every spin. Putting music and music videos on YouTube wouldn't be worth it if they get royalties from Apple, Spotify, etc., and nothing from YouTube.”
