Sol Phenduka recently sang Shebeshxt's praises and called him a top-class superstar.

In several unearthed videos, the former Kaya 959 presenter spoke highly of Shebe on Podcast and Chill, and lauded his remarkable ability to engage a crowd without even putting in much effort:

"Shebe is one of the only celebrities we have, and he performs. The guy arrives there, there's a song, and his part is three minutes in. He doesn't say anything, and people are losing it."

Sol said Shebe's success, though controversial, was a testament to his unique talent:

"You know when God gifts you? As much as people take his image and make him the opposite of God. But he's literally just a dude who got blessed by God. Nothing makes sense, but people love him!"

In a separate interview, posted on Twitter (X) on 20 September, the Podcast and Chill co-host cemented his statements about the Limpopo rapper:

"Shebeshxt is the only superstar in South Africa."

His comments sparked a debate online about the Lekompo star's success and superstardom, and not everyone fully agreed with Sol.

The statements follow the bad publicity that has been synonymous with Shebeshxt's name, from his violent outbursts to his reckless driving

He recently trended after admitting to using drugs, and online users said he was not the kind of "superstar" South Africa needed.

Social media users weighed in on Sol's statements, saying they were completely far-fetched:

Thokozani_Si asked:

"Only superstar? @Solphendukaa, do you really stand by that? We don't have many, yes, but only???"

RandomoneSa wrote:

"I disagree with Sol. Shebe just has a cult following, but his market is still very niche. Take him to the Eastern Cape, Western Cape or KZN and it'll be crickets. He can't be a superstar when half the country doesn't know him or his music."

TebogoGladwin1 said:

"Aw, nah, man. I am not the target market."
