Drake Spoils Women With Millions, Luxury Cars and Designer Gifts at Exclusive Event

Canadian rapper Drake turned heads this week after handing out more than $1 million (roughly R16 million) in cash, Birkin handbags and luxury vehicles to women at his third annual Strong Women, Stronger Drinks event in Toronto.
The invite-only gathering took place at the iconic Casa Loma estate on Tuesday, 4 August, and is designed to honour women who are making meaningful strides in their communities, careers and industries.

According to TMZ, 10 guests each received $50,000 in cash, while six other women were handed $100,000 apiece. Beyond the cash, attendees were also gifted Birkin handbags and driven off in new vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons and BMWs, all presented during the evening's celebrations.

Videos captured at the event showed Drake moving through the crowd, personally surprising women with the gifts while the atmosphere at the castle-like venue remained electric throughout the night. In a speech to guests, Drake credited an event he attended in the early 2000s as the original inspiration behind the concept. He said:
"There was an event by a lovely woman. She used to do an event called What Women Want. It was essentially women gathering to network, to socialise, and to be a man at the event, you had to work. I always loved that aspect of it.”
A night designed to connect and inspire
Drake told the crowd the evening was built around the idea of bringing together women from different professional worlds.
"All of you who are doing incredible things in your respective fields… We hope that you can be social, talk to each other, learn from each other, and we have an incredible evening for you. We'll do some giveaways and hopefully change some lives.”
Footage shared online by user @majimosess, filmed in a POV selfie-style by an attendee, showed the rapper addressing the crowd with the caption: ‘POV: you get invited to Drake's private dinner in Toronto.’ Screams and celebrations could be heard throughout as the gifts were announced.
Now in its third year, the event has cemented itself as one of Drake's signature Toronto occasions, regularly spotlighting entrepreneurs, creatives and business owners.
