Cassper Nyovest is gearing up for one of the biggest nights in South African music, and he's not hiding the fact that the pressure is starting to hit. The Tito Mboweni rapper took to Instagram on 7 August 2026 to share his honest feelings ahead of stepping onto the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) stage.

"The SAMAs are next Saturday. We're a week away. The nerves are kicking in; I'm not gonna lie. But I'm excited at the same time."

Cassper Nyovest hopes to revive the SAMAs

The rapper, who will co-host the ceremony alongside Zanele Potelwa, made it clear that he is walking in with a specific goal. The SAMAs will return to Sun City in North West on 15 August, and Cassper believes the weekend surrounding the ceremony should feel like a full-on celebration rather than simply an awards show. He was confident that the organisers had chosen the right person for the job.
