Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 runner-up Thandeka Tshabalala set X (formerly Twitter) ablaze on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, after she fired back at users who claimed she is secretly still married to an Italian man while publicly dating her fellow housemate Mmeli.
The drama unfolded after a user, @LovieonInyala, alleged that Thandeka is legally married to one Emanuele Polumbo and posted what she claimed was the couple's anniversary date.
"You are legally married to Emanuele Polumbo. He celebrated his 37th birthday in July. You married him 14 September 2019, and you are still married. Stop lying," the user wrote in one post, before correcting herself in another:
"Date of marriage 14 September 2017. Go celebrate your anniversary with Emanuele and stop being deceitful. It's not nice."

Thandeka shares photos of her alleged Italian hubby
Rather than stay silent, the BBMzansi runner-up decided to get ahead of the story herself. She posted photos and videos of men she dated during her time in Italy, along with a pointed statement.
"Since you're soooo eager for micro and inconsequential details of my life in Italy, nawa wonke amadoda from Italy; from the ones I casually dated to the ones who got down on one knee," she wrote, adding that she would privately share full names for anyone truly determined to dig.
She followed up with another post, letting her followers know the information being used against her was hardly breaking news.
"Stale details of my life, thinking ukuthi you are holding me hostage, lol niyahlekisa. Let me spoil you with more recent tea, since I'm feeling generous. Mina sthadwa. Enjoy, as this will be the peak of your week."
When one user encouraged her to simply ignore the noise, Thandeka responded that her private life had always been on her own terms.
"Hun, they'll never know anything about my life that I wasn't willing to share. There just was no reason because now they know then and then what? NOTHING," she replied.
Thandeka is currently in a relationship with Mmeli, whom she met inside the Big Brother Mzansi house during Season 6.
