Polygamist Musa Mseleku's wife, Nokukhanya "MaYeni," finally spoke out on the 9 September 2026 episode of Izingane Zesthembu after social media erupted with accusations that she had a favourite daughter-in-law.
The drama began when MaYeni travelled to the North West to attend the lobola celebration of Tirelo Kale, who was set to marry her son Mpumelelo "Sbindi." Fans were quick to notice that she had not extended the same presence to Amahle Biyela's lobola ceremony, and the comparisons came fast and hard. Her close relationship with Tirelo has only fueled the speculation.
Speaking on the latest episode, the Uthando Nesthembu star maintained that her attendance at Tirelo's ceremony was not a personal choice, but one guided by custom and circumstance.
"To my knowledge, women don't attend lobola ceremonies with the delegation. Only the men go, pay the lobola and return with a report."

She went on to clarify that her trip to the North West was not a spontaneous show of favouritism, but a direct response to instructions from Tirelo's family.
"I didn't just decide to go to the North West for Tirelo's lobola ceremony; we were told that we had to be there because they would pay lobola and do things their way until they finished. We were advised that we would be needed."
MaYeni had previously stated that she was excluded from Amahle's lobola ceremony by her son and husband, a claim that sits uncomfortably alongside Sbindi's version of events.

Sbindi himself did not shy away from the tension, revealing that Amahle's family had expected more from the Mseleku side and were left disappointed.
