Mzansi's own Tyla could be heading to Wakanda. Reports are swirling that she and Kendrick Lamar are among the artists set to appear on the Black Panther 3 soundtrack, and fans are already losing it.
According to IMDb's cast and crew listings, Tyla, Kendrick Lamar, Burna Boy, and CKay have all been listed as playback singers for the highly anticipated Marvel Studios release. Tyla's inclusion would make her the latest South African artist to contribute to the Black Panther franchise, joining a legacy that already includes Sjava, Babes Wodumo, and Saudi. Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the tracklist for the third instalment.

Kendrick's Black Panther Legacy
This would not be Kendrick's first ride to Wakanda. The Compton rapper was a cornerstone of the original Black Panther soundtrack in 2018, the film that introduced the world to Chadwick Boseman's iconic portrayal of King T'Challa. Director Ryan Coogler and Marvel sought to build a soundtrack that authentically reflected African and Black culture globally, and Kendrick was a natural fit given how deeply his music engages with themes of Black identity, power, and culture.

His contributions to that album included All The Stars with SZA, King's Dead with Jay Rock, Future, and James Blake, and Pray For Me alongside The Weeknd. The soundtrack earned widespread critical acclaim and took home the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Performance for King's Dead.
African artists return to Wakanda
Burna Boy and CKay are no strangers to the franchise either, both having appeared on the Wakanda Forever album. The reported addition of Tyla, who has been on a remarkable global run since her smash hit Water, signals that the Black Panther 3 creative team is once again committed to centering African voices in the project.
