DJ Maphorisa is showing love back to the people who showed up for him. After his Podcast and Chill episode became a runaway hit, the amapiano DJ and producer stepped up and bought free tickets for the show's fans, known as the Chillers, for the upcoming Road to 2 Million concert.
During the latest episode on 28 September 2026, host MacG shared that Maphorisa had reached out to him personally, buzzing off the overwhelming response he had received since the episode dropped.
"I was speaking to Madumane yesterday, and he is so happy with the love he has received, because he has been sceptical for a number of years about coming on the platform. So when he came, the love he has been seeing has been insane," MacG said.
DJ Maphorisa's episode sets a record
The episode made waves almost immediately after it went live, clocking one million views in a single day. By 30 September, it had pushed past two million views, cementing it as one of the platform's biggest episodes in recent memory.

MacG explained that Maphorisa wanted to personally thank the Chillers for shifting his perception of the show and its audience.
"He said the love from the streets has been crazy; people have a different point of view of him. He wants to thank the Chillers and he is giving away free tickets to Road to 2 Million."

The Road to 2 Million concert, scheduled for 12 December at the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, is set to mark a major milestone for the podcast as it counts down to hitting two million subscribers, following its one million subscriber celebration in 2023.
Maphorisa's sit-down with MacG had been a long time coming. The DJ had avoided the platform for years, and his reasons for doing so were laid bare during the episode itself. He opened up about navigating industry tensions, including well-documented feuds with Nota Baloyi and Samthing Soweto, as well as the persistent allegations that he operates as a gatekeeper in the amapiano space.
Beyond addressing the drama, Maphorisa also used the moment strategically, building anticipation for the Scorpion Kings Live concert, which he will headline alongside frequent collaborator Kabza De Small.
