Imlie is the Indian TV series that has been airing on Star Life since 23rd August 2022. It was initially produced by Star Jalsha in Bengali, redone in Hindi on StarPlus as Mohi by Whitehorse productions, and yet again remade by the famous 4 Lions films producer, Gul Khan, as Imlie. With millions of viewers already, Imlie on Star Life is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Love and marriage is a topic that never gets old. Unfortunately, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the two, especially in a society where forced marriages are the norm. Beautiful and loveable Imlie is no exception to this roller-coaster as she encounters challenges with the man she is forced to marry but is bound to stay with him by her belief in marriage, upbringing and faith in God.

Imlie and Aditya get married against their will. She falls in love with Aryan, a man who wants to destroy her husband because he thinks Aditya caused his brother-in-law's death. Millions who have watched Imlie on Star Life admit it is nothing short of a masterpiece.

What is the summary of Imlie Starlife?

Aditya and Imlie get married unwillingly. She saves him from being killed and later realizes he plans to marry Malini. Aditya treats Imlie awfully despite how often she comes to her aid when he needs her. Malini tries to separate them when Aditya finally falls in love with Imlie. Imlie later forms a bond with businessman Aryan, and their love goes beyond their untimely deaths.

The first season is about Imlie, Aditya, Aryan, and Malini. The second season introduces Cheeni (Malini and Aditya's daughter) and Imlie (Aryan and Imlie's daughter).

Imlie StarLife full story - Season 1

Imlie Season 1 introduces the 18-year-old Imlie as a child from a single-parent family. Meethi gets her after a one-night stand with Dev, and Satyakam helps her raise the girl in Pagdandia village in Uttar Pradesh. He is a farmer and a human rights activist. Imlie earns her degree and wants to become a police officer.

Journalist Aditya (Adi) works in New Delhi for Bhaskar Times. He proposes to Malini after seven years of dating and goes to Pagdandia to interview activist Satyakam.

Imlie becomes Aditya's tour guide around the village. They lose their way and take shelter in a hut due to heavy rain. The villagers, including Imlie’s grandmother, assume they spent the night together. They threaten to kill Aditya if the two refuse to marry each other.

Malini passes out in New Delhi upon hearing about Aditya and Imlie’s marriage. Aditya takes his wife to his family in New Delhi and introduces her as a maid. He worries when they start liking her and begins to mistreat her.

Imlie stays because her upbringing, traditions, and religious beliefs expect her to protect her marriage till the day she dies. Her heart shatters when Aditya marries Malini.

Journalist Aditya travels to Pagdandia to attend a meeting between Satyakam and the government. He brings Imlie along, discovers she is Malini's half-sister, and decides to leave her at Pagdandia for good.

On the night before they part ways, Imlie saves him from a bomb blast. Aditya regrets mistreating her while she is admitted to a hospital in New Delhi. Imlie later saves Malini from an accident and rejects Aditya's marriage proposal because she wants him to marry Malini.

Malini assumes Aditya is cheating on her and attempts suicide. She later disguises herself as Kalpana and moves to Pagdandia, where she discovers she is Imlie’s half-sister.

Imlie rejects her biological father, Dev, and Aditya defends her when his family harasses her for being an illegitimate child. She promises to move in with him if his family accepts her.

After Aditya and Malini's marriage annulment is done, she ensures Imlie is thrown out of the Tripathi house. Imlie rents a hostel far away and accepts an internship offer from Bhaskar Times' CEO, Aryan.

Aryan falls in love with Imlie while seeking revenge against Aditya for allegedly causing his brother-in-law's death. Misunderstandings break Aditya and Imlie’s marriage, and Aryan helps her expose Malini.

Aryan discovers Aditya had n hand in his brother-in-law’s death. Aditya leaves the country as Imlie and Aryan agree to adopt Malini’s abandoned daughter, Gudiya.

Malini harms Imlie and makes her lose Aryan’s pregnancy. Imlie finds Gudiya abandoned in a temple by Malini and takes her to her mother, Meethi.

Imlie full story Season 2 - Five years later

Imlie season 2 begins with Aryan and Imlie hurting due to the lost pregnancy. Imlie lives in Pagdandiya village as an independent journalist fighting social injustice.

Malini is still vengeful and owns significant shares in Bhaskar Times. She publishes an article against Imlie’s village, which damages the reputation of the Bhaskar Times newspaper.

Aryan goes to Pagdandiya to resolve the matter. While at the village, he saves Cheeni and later discovers she is Malini and Aditya's daughter. Cheeni reunites Aryan and Imlie, who later get a baby girl. Malini sets a bomb for the couple and dies with them.

18 years later

Cheeni (Malini and Aditya's daughter) and Imlie (Aryan and Imlie's daughter) are adults. They cross paths through Atharva (DJ Arto). He falls in love with Cheeni because he assumes she is a poetess.

Atharva's family meets Imlie at someone's wedding. They want her to marry Atharva against his will. Cheeni fakes her love for Atharva to grab his property. She manipulates him to marry Imlie, which he later regrets after seeing how Imlie cares for his family.

Atharva discovers Cheeni steals poems from Imlie. Imlie almost leaves upon discovering Atharva and Cheeni's secrets but stays for her in-laws' sake.

Cheeni plans to marry businessman Abhishek to gain his properties, and Imlie helps Atharva overcome the pain of losing Cheeni. Cheeni cancels her wedding with Abhishek and tries to get Imlie out of Atharva's family home.

Atharva and Imlie fall in love. An accident makes her lose her memory. She reveals later that she faked memory loss to expose Cheeni to Atharva's family. Cheeni kidnaps one of Atharva's family members to make him marry her but gets arrested. Atharva and Imlie rekindle their love.

Imlie April 2023 teasers (Episodes 438 - 457)

The April 2023 teasers center on the death of Aryan's brother-in-law. Imlie works for Aryna's company, not knowing that he is using her to implement his vengeance against Aditya.

Aryna believes Aditya has something to do with Arvind's death. Imlie makes it clear that she no longer loves Aditya. He gets upset and throws a tantrum.

Aryan mistreats Imlie for some time for being an obstacle in his revenge plan. She discovers Seth Prundas' plan to kill Aryan and informs him. Imlie and Ayran fall in love afterward and begin dating.
