“It’s not a flaw you can fix or work on. I had to constantly remind myself that this isn’t something Lazarus chose. Does it make him less of a man? How does he make peace with it? How does it affect his relationships? These were questions I had to explore deeply,” says the actor.
Entertainment commentator Jabu McDonald celebrated actor Loyiso McDonald on his X account on 4 November 2025, for his portrayal of Lazarus.
"Loyiso MacDonald is a brilliant actor! I’ve been watching him portray Lazarus on the show, and I absolutely love the growth and expansion of his life story. Yesterday’s episode was one of those difficult and emotional ones to watch because Loyiso MacDonald’s eyes and expressions tell such a powerful story. You could see the sadness and disappointment in his eyes as Lazarus struggled to let go of Bavumile and accept that the child would never be his," said the entertainer.
Inimba fans react to Loyiso's character
@thatomos responded:
"Can they do DNA tests and miraculously find that it’s Laz’s son. Ag, I’m sick of Hlathi."
@Zoeky15 commented:
"Laz has really come full circle from what was like cameo appearances on the show. Yho, this storyline is really bringing out a side of him so raw, it moves you deep inside."
@nashechocx said:
"In our haste to criticize the show for this and that, we seldom take time to reflect on how great the writing and acting actually are. Clearly, they managed to invoke such strong feelings that have gotten people buzzing. Cheers to the cast and crew."
@EzamaCirha wrote:
This part played by Loyiso is very important because it will make men or society in general realise that not only women can be infertile, but men can be shooting blanks, thinking they can make babies. I know this. We thank the writers."
@ntomz17159 responded:
"They delivered so much that the store becomes a burden in our mental health. I think the writers proved their point that evil always wins against good. I'm planning to take a break from watching, maybe I will watch the finale."
