The European Union and United States said Wednesday they expect to draft a voluntary code of conduct on artificial intelligence "within weeks" with the hope that fellow democracies will sign on. European Commission Vice President Margrethe Vestager added that a draft would be put forward "within weeks."

Falling inflation in top eurozone economies is "positive" news, a senior European Central Bank official said Wednesday, while warning that the battle against high prices was not over yet. "However, it will not (yet) stop the European Central Bank from hiking rates again," he said, predicting a rate increase of 25 basis points.
