Indlamu is the traditional dance where the dancer lifts their leg high up and stomps it down, the higher the kick, the better. According to Indlondlo Cultural Village, the dance is a way to maintain unity and originated in King Shaka's era. Indlamu was the way warriors would demonstrate strength and their skills with a weapon by simulating battle. During the Anglo-Zulu War, the dance functioned as an inspiration as warriors endured long marches to war.
