South Africans were floored to see a man cooking over a fire with confidence. The video of the man in action was a viral hit as a Ndebele man hyped him up for cooking pap in the pot over the fire.

In a TikTok video by @giggs_45, a man, the person recording referred to as Bra John, was working a large pot of pap over the fire. The man a giant wooden spoon to ensure the pap would not get lumps by vigorously stirring it. He looked experienced with preparing pap over a fire. The Ndebele man in the video said, "No one stirs the pap like him, and even other Ndebele people struggle with it."

Some women in the comments joked that they were ready to pay lobola for the man preparing pap over the fire. Many remarked that it was amazing to see a man take charge of the pots. According to South African History Online, cooking is usually a task relegated to women in the Ndebele culture. In African tradition, daughters-in-law are often expected to cook for a whole clan in the massive three-legged pots.
